Speakers of the Baltic transport forum: piggyback faster and cheaper car

Delegates of the Baltic transport forum is already not the first year monitoring the situation with the development of piggyback transportation in the region. On the Tenth anniversary forum Shuttle train will be given the "green light".

talk about the progress of the project and the development of contrailer transportations
towards Kaliningrad-Moscow-Kaliningrad.

"The platform, which the delegates of the Baltic forum has seen in the past year, we launched the operation, says Mikhail Tarasov, – then it was only prototype, but with this wagon we have implemented all the necessary procedures related to the approval of the "Russian Railways" schemes of placement and fastening of semi-trailers. Today we already have agreed and appeared on the network specifications. "Russian Railways" in the month of July has reviewed the route Kaliningrad-Moscow-Kaliningrad, and confirmed the possibility to use it for piggyback transport. At the moment we are in talks with the manufacturer about the possibility of releasing a series of 50 cars. A decision about the future of this project and we are moving towards establishing a regular service on the route Kaliningrad-Moscow-Kaliningrad. One of the advantages of this project is, in particular, simplification of passing of the state borders, which we have four, and facilitation of customs procedures. As a result, the transport car trailer piggyback platform from Kaliningrad to Moscow, by our calculations, should be cheaper than the cost of road transportation and faster".

The tenth anniversary Baltic transport forum will be held under the auspices of the Government of the Kaliningrad region of 6 – 7 September 2018 in Kaliningrad.
