In July, imports amounted to 69,7 thousand tons, which is 14.8% less than in July last year, but 2.9% more than in June 2018.

Imports of coconut, palm kernel or babassu oil and their fractions in January and July of this year decreased by 14.6 percent to 40.4 thousand tons. In July 2018, imports of these products amounted to 3.4 thousand tons, which is 29.1% less than in July 2017 and 38.3% less than in June of the current year.

Imports of sunflower, safflower, cottonseed oils and their fractions in seven months grew by 45.9% to 17.1 thousand tons. Delivery of products in July this year amounted to 1.9 thousand tons, which is 27.4% lower than in July last year and 28.6% more than in June 2018.

According to Rosstat, the import of palm oil and its fractions in Russia in 2017, increased by 0.7% compared with the year 2016 — up to 891 thousand tonnes. In July 2018, entered into force amendments to the technical regulations on safety of milk and dairy products. Now dairy producers are required to provide information about the availability of vegetable oils in milk-containing product with a substitute of dairy fat.

In addition, the Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation has prepared a draft resolution containing the proposal to place in the stores of milk products with milk fat substitute separately from dairy products that such substitutes do not contain.
