USDA FAS analysts predict a rise in palm oil production in Indonesia in 2017/18 MG to a record 36.5 million tons, 2.5 million tons will exceed the result a year earlier.

The increase in this indicator will contribute to the expected improvement in the yield of oil palm.

However, despite the substantial increase in palm oil production, its export from Indonesia in the new season can be increased only 0.5 million tons to 25.5 million tons, which will yield record in 2014/15 (25.96 million tons). This trend is due to high competition from soybean oil on the world market.
